Students’ program

Additional activities, competitions, and workshops are planned for students, early career researchers, young professionals, and all recent university graduates (within the last 3 to 4 years).

The student events are organised by the students of ISIE, in collaboration between the local student organising committee and the official ISIE student community.

Students workshop

Soon after finishing our PhD we will have to deal with very important decisions: finding our own path in the field of Industrial Ecology, pursuing our own research path, and finding an working position. We invited some of the most eminent researchers that greatly contributed with their work in making famous our field, who are currently at different stages of their careers.

This workshop will focus on the transition from student to professor. Topics such as emancipating from your supervisor, finding your own research niche, advancing in your career, will be presented and discussed.
The (tentative) schedule will be as follows:

09:00 – 10:15   Invited speakers’ talks
10:15 – 10:45    Coffee break
10:45 – 12:00   Open discussion

Field trip

Bento boxIn the afternoon of Tuesday 27, right after the end of the panel discussion, we will all be given a bento, a traditional Japanese lunch box, and hop on the bus to visit one famous industrial facility in the surroundings of Nagoya. More detailed information will come soon.
Please note that this field trip is open to all the registered attendees of the conference.

Pre-conference dinner

360px-izakayaIn the evening of Tuesday 27, once we will be back to Nagoya, we are planning to organise a very informal dinner, where we will be able to socialise and network with our fellow colleagues. You will be able to experience an izakaya, the Japanese version of a pub. If you wish, please join us! This dinner is open to all the attendees of the conference,  not only to students. More details about the venue, and how to confirm your participation, will follow.
